3 Unusual Tips To Avoid Holiday Weight Gain


If you don’t want to be a food marketing victim, here’s my best tips:

1. Remember you’re going to be “played.” 

A lot.

I know this is different than most weight loss advice, but since most people fail using big diet company “wisdom” it’s time to think outside the box.

The main reason it’s so difficult to lose weight [especially in America] is not because we’re a bunch of stupid and lazy dopes.

It’s because billions of dollars are spent to make sure we fail.

Billions are spent advertising misleading weight loss products, “health” foods that make us fat, and positioning junk foods so they are within arms reach everywhere.

The best way to stand against this mental assault is to acknowledge it -and prepare for it.

At no time of the year, is it more critical to prepare than during the Holidays.

I wish it wasn’t the case, but the number one marketing message of the next several months is to going to be this:

“Indulge yourself.”

From alcohol to candy, you’re going to be relentlessly encouraged to make an exception, because, well, it’s “The Holidays.”

Don’t let the marketing department of some giant company write your holidays for you.

The “keep you beholden to what we’re selling world” doesn’t like it when it loses a customer, but if you want to live with not only vibrant health, but also true personal freedom, you’re going to need to, on occasion, to be able to tell that world this:

I’ve decided to take back my body and life- and I’m not going to let you play me any longer.

2. Use what you eat to your advantage.

Since it’s virtually impossible to gain weight eating protein and veggies, fill up on those first.

If you are going to hit the carbs [the macro-nutrient most readily converted to body fat] use them the way people that stay lean for a living [bodybuilders and fitness models] use them:

To provide energy for a healthy and invigorating workout.

3. If you’re going to eat sweets, eat a healthier version.

For example, whenever I have a chocolate craving [which is almost daily] I mix up a serving of chocolate casein protein and put it in the frig. In about 10 minutes it firms up and tastes just like chocolate pudding.

Result: Chocolate craving crushed – without the guilt, stress, and extra body fat.

From ice cream to truffles, to cheesecake, there’s a healthier version of every treat you can imagine.
