Physical fitness programs are just a fancy way of saying you’re going to eat right and get some exercise. So don’t get caught up in thinking there is some ideal online, free, expensive, or best home exercise program. Everyone has different needs. At fifty, my fitness training is going to be totally different than someone else’s cardio and weightlifting routine.
Also, don’t think of diet, exercise, and weight loss as a “routine.” Routines are boring. Think of them as personal habits that are going to extend and improve your life. And it doesn’t matter what this routine is. Any routine is nothing more than walking, running, swimming, etc. Basically, some type of aerobics, and some type of resistance or strength training.
Losing weight, toning, body sculpting, whatever the heck you want to call it, is something we make WAY to complicated. There is no such thing as a perfect routine. No matter what routine you do, someone is going to tell you that you’re doing it all wrong.
That’s the type of people you need to ignore.
If any fitness expert saw my routine, they’d laugh. Stair machine once day. Walking and running the next day. Nothing but abs the next day. Some days nothing. Other days light weight training, other days heavy weight training. [I don’t belong to a gym, I do my exercise “programs” at home.
You see, your body doesn’t care about your fitness routine. It doesn’t care what you do for cardio or strength training. All it cares about is that you’re using it. So don’t wait until you have the perfect diet and fitness or exercise routine designed.
Just do something. Everyday.
It’s making healthy habits a priority that matters, not the exact routine. You can always refine and change your exercises later. Health and fitness is in your daily habits- not in the routine you buy as a DVD or online.
Just get started with changing your unhealthy fitness and diet habits over to new ones. Then your health, life, and future will change in ways you never imagined.
