I hope by now you’re noticing what’s “different” about New Body New Life [it doesn’t just tell you to “eat right and get some exercise” - it helps you to do that in a way that fits your life - in a world that relentlessly pressures you to do the opposite].
In other words, if you’re like most people, being told to eat natural and healthy food is one thing, and actually doing it is quite another. [Because your mind doesn’t want to give up what it's gotten used to- and the “world” places unhealthy choices everywhere you go.]
The reality is it takes time to “rewire” yourself from wanting to eat unhealthy foods.
I know, it took me three months to give up Pepsi.
What that reality acknowledged, today’s recipes are designed to help you do what few people have the disciple to do:
Go cold turkey when trying to give up eating highly processed sweets.
What you want to do is ease yourself off the unhealthy foods in your diet- by replacing them with ones that are good for you- that still taste good.
This way you make progress towards a healthy diet without the emotional roller coaster of feeling deprived or weak if you can’t yet stare down unhealthy food [don’t worry, you’ll get there].
Remember, more important than exactly what you eat or how you get active, is that you make progress on the true crux of the issue:
Seeing your unhealthy choices, and replacing them with healthy ones- because when you get right down to it- that’s the ONLY thing that will EVER work.
With that said, here’s two dessert recipes to keep handy:
Healthy Brownies
Ingredients
1/3 cup butter, melted
½ cup cocoa powder
6 eggs
½ cup Stevia Blend baking stevia
½ teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon vanilla
½ cup sifted Coconut Flour
1 cup raw nuts, chopped (optional)
Directions
In a saucepan at low heat, blend together butter and cocoa powder. Remove from heat and let cool. In a bowl, mix together eggs, stevia, salt and vanilla. Stir in cocoa mixture. Whisk coconut flour into batter until there are no lumps. Fold in nuts. Pour batter into a greased 11×7x2 or 8×8x2 inch pan. Bake at 175C (350F) for 30-35 minutes.
Healthy Chocolate “Pudding”
1/2 of a ripe avocado (soft to touch)
approx 3 tablespoons of almond butter
approx 1/4 cup of unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk
2 heaping tablespoons of cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
1 packet of stevia (or enough to your desired sweetness level)
1/2 to 3/4 of a scoop of chocolate protein powder
small pinch of sea salt
Directions
Put the avocado and almond butter into a bowl and mash together with a fork until smooth. Then add all of the other ingredients into the bowl and mix together vigorously until all is mixed and smooth.
If the pudding ends up too thick, simply add a bit more almond milk or coconut milk for more moisture until the consistency seems right. Makes 2 to 4 servings.
Again, rather than trying to “deprive” yourself or go hungry, you’re replacing highly processed and sugar laden foods with what your body needs and understands:
Natural food that has the fiber, protein, and healthy nutrients your body is designed and created to use.
I’ll say it again, if there’s one MAJOR “trick” to getting your body to do most of the physical transformation work for you, it’s to replace man made foods with natural ones.
Natural food is the only reason I’m able to exercise in around 20 minutes a day. [Processed foods are almost always loaded with high glycemic carbs, which get quickly stored as fat [unless you’re VERY active.]
If you’re like me, and add fat VERY easily- take the easy way out- get to the point where you’re eating natural food at every meal.
Very soon you’ll feel like a totally new person- and by eventually being able to ignore all the unhealthy stuff the world has in your face 24/7- you’ll develop a clarity and freedom that’s like nothing you can imagine.
To your health and success, and may God bless.
Michael
