Although I believe we’re all responsible for our own choices, I also believe it’s not acceptable to take advantage of people… which is something the diet, weight loss, supplement, and food processing industry does BIG TIME.
For reasons I don’t understand, a car company cannot tell you their car gets 50 miles to the gallon, when it only gets 20…
Yet the companies that sell useless or unhealthy products operate with virtually total impunity.
And the simple truth is, they couldn’t do it without the media.
Televisions, newspapers, and websites willingly advertise total and complete scams.
Did you ever see a disclaimer on ads for Colon Cleansers, Acia Berry, or African Mango that stated NOTHING will work for fat loss- other than a calorie deficit?
Advertisers know deep down no pill, herb, tea, berry- whatever- is going to burn fat for you- but those advertising dollars are tempting. [After all, it’s not their job to make sure their customers aren’t crooks, that’s the governments job, or your job, or someone else's job.]
They don’t stop at scams, they also advertise tons and tons of products that will make you fat.
Junk food, fast food, and so called “health” foods.
What do your kids see every few minutes? Ads for apples- or ads for candy or sugary cereal?
What’s in your face 24/7? Ads for sodas, energy drinks, donuts, chips, and processed “health foods” like soy milk, granola bars, or cereal?
Think about it, when’s the last time you saw an add for something that was actually healthy for you?
Here’s what few people understand:
Almost every single manufactured product is all carbs.
Carbs are a non essential nutrient. Their primary function in the body is to provide energy.
What doesn’t get used for energy, is stored as fat.
Does anyone ever mention that fact?
Or are you lead to believe that carb foods like fruit juice, wheat crackers, and fructose filled yogurt are “healthy?”
It’s not right to take advantage of people’s lack of nutritional knowledge, I agree.
It’s wrong to exploit the naive or vulnerable for profit, I know.
What can you do?
The only way to win is not to play.
This type of advertising isn’t going away. You’re going to need to learn how to ignore it.
You’re going to need to see the people that advertise unhealthy products for what they are:
People that care a lot more about money than they do your health.
I don’t want to sound harsh, but the people that sell and advertise junk food, fast food, “health” foods, and scam products to you and your children don’t care A LICK about you.
They don’t care if you get obese. They don’t care if you have a heart attack, stroke, or cancer.
All they care about is one thing:
Convincing you not to care about what goes into your body. Convincing you that what they’re selling is a special “treat” that you deserve… or that everyone eats it… or that’s it no big deal.
Whether it’s giant corporations or giant political movements, the people pulling our strings have a name for those that they can manipulate [while making us think it was our idea].
Useful idiots.
I’m going to beg you. Don’t be someone’s useful idiot. There’s only ONE outcome: It ends up good for them, and bad for you.
I know it’s hard, especially at first. I didn’t fail here for thirty years because I didn’t know some special “fat burning” exercises. I failed because I refused to remove all the garbage I was eating from my life.
Once I did that, my body took over and did most of the physical transformation “work” for me.
Take a hard and honest look at your health choices. See where you’re justifying spending hard earned money on something that’s only going to have a negative effect on your health and future.
Dig your heels in, and do not give up until the chains that are hold your best body and life hostage are broken.
That’s how you get healthy. That’s how you look and feel half your age.
That’s how you live with a clarity and freedom that’s priceless.
To your health and success, may God bless, and seize the day.
Michael
