Is there is no secret. Success here is not hiding from us. It’s sitting in plain sight and waiting for us to make the first move. Weight loss only works ONE way. The creation of a calorie deficit. However, if you’re not willing to change a few basic daily choices, I recommend that you don’t even try to lose weight.
What?
Don’t even try? Why would I say that?
Because if you go on a diet, buy some herbs, teas, patches- whatever- you’re going to fail. [And I don't say that to be mean spirited, it's just that you're attempting the impossible.] And when you do fail, you think weight loss is impossible. So you give up trying.
I don’t want that to happen.
Until you’re ready to do the only thing that is proven to work [change your weight gain actions to weight loss ones] DON’T TRY TO LOSE WEIGHT.
Instead, do a little planning and think about what will help you change your habits. Losing weight is just like getting rich. There’s only one way to do that will work. However, there are endless ways to go about that one way. To get rich, you have earn more money than you spend. And there’s thousands of ways to do that. To lose weight, you have burn more calories than you consume. And there’s countess ways to do that too.
Motivation, desire, willpower [whatever you want to call it] is the key to weight loss and fitness. Because it does not matter how you go about losing weight and getting in shape. All that matters is that you find the motivation that works for you.
It doesn’t matter what your personal motivation is for a new healthy life is. It can be something simple like just wanting to live longer and look better. Maybe all you’ll need to do is hang up a swim suit. So here’s the “secret:”
Find the motivation or desire first.
When the right motivation is found, you’ll have the strength to change your unhealthy habits and get more fit- no matter which way you decide to go about it.
Remember, it doesn’t matter how you create that calorie deficit- as long as you go about in safe and healthy fashion. You can eat more salads and walk more often. You can train for a marathon and give up junk food. As long you can motivate yourself to lose weight, it doesn’t matter exactly how the weight comes off.
My best advise is this: Don’t count on something you’ve bought to give you the necessary motivation to lose weight. A new treadmill isn’t going to inspire you to lose weight. You need to find the motivation for weight loss first. Once you discover the right weight loss motivators for you, doing whatever; walking, running, treadmill, etc. is easier. It’s easier use the weight loss tool because the right motivation is already there.
So before you begin a weight loss transformation, I would urge you to do some soul searching and discover your key motivators for weight loss. Again, it doesn’t matter what they are. All that matters is that they are powerful enough motivators for you. The hardest time in weight loss is the first several weeks. That’s when you’re trying to break all your old weight gain habits. It takes some serious motivation to not give up on your weight loss goal during this time. However, as long as you maintain your personal motivations to lose weight, it soon becomes much easier. You just need to be prepared not to give up during those first critical few weeks.
It is exactly like learning how to swim. If you don’t give up, it soon gets so easy you can do it without a second thought. The only difference here is, when you learn how to control your daily food and activity choices, it will transfrom your life in ways you can’t begin to imagine.
